Review
We all know about the Roman community, they once ruled almost the whole world. Just as they left no kingdom to establish their rule through war, so there is no despicable act that they did not! One of those lowly jobs is slavery. Slaves, which have endured many years of persecution and oppression, were helpless, as if to remind us of the present society where the rich are getting richer and the condition of the poor is never changing. These tens are no longer able to bear the oppression and sit down and protest against the masters, where they have only one wish and then let life go but I will not die as a slave! I will die as an independent man!
The series that reflects all of this is SPARTACUS. From his hand the slaves saw for the first time the hope of their freedom, the hope of a new life where they did not have to live under the tax, did not have to live as someone's slave. Let's talk about the series.
NO SPOILER
In the series you will find slavery, politics, power struggles, rebellion, revenge, brotherhood and much more, tell me how much you can expect from a single series! Historically, this series has such a beautiful presentation and making that I don't know when I finished 33 episodes. The background and acting of each important character was worth watching. Although I have always liked historical / biography genre series or movies, this series has fascinated me!
While other biography series focus more on 1/2 of the main characters, this series is very different from that. In addition to the main character Spartacus in this series, Ari is very nicely focused on many roles. I didn't find any characters in the whole season who might not seem to have contributed to the original story. Each part was intense, so I didn't get a chance to pull it off. This series is a beautiful example of how the anger that has been suppressed among hundreds of people can come out together and take on a terrible shape.
Andy Whitfield played the main character Spartacus in this series which was shot in New Zealand all the time. But unfortunately, Liam Mclntyre took the lead role in the 2nd and 3rd seasons after he was diagnosed with blood cancer after shooting the first season. But it seems to me that Liam is the one who has taken a good place in the character from Andy. The series, which received 4 awards out of 16 nominations, started in 2010 and ended in 2013.
So far, almost everyone who has watched the series has a common complaint, and that is that the series has a lot of violence and 18+ scenes. But if we look at the history of the Romans, we will see that their civilization and culture was like that. Just as we have our own culture, they also have their own culture. So in keeping with their culture, the director has put a lot of violence and 18+ scenes in the series. So I would definitely not suggest watching the series with family / under 18 / weak hearted people.
Finally, I would like to end one of my favorite quotes in the series:
When a free man dies, he loses the pleasure of life. A slave loses his pain. Death is the only freedom a slave knows. That's why he's not afraid of it. That's why we'll win.
